Optometrist, Founder
Dr. Justine Hung
Dr. Justine Hung attended the University of California San Diego where she received her Bachelors of Science in Human Biology with a minor in Psychology. Returning to her hometown, she continued her education at the University of Houston College of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. Dr. Hung completed her education with internships at Lakeline Vision Source in Austin and at Audie L. Murphy Veterans Affairs hospital in San Antonio.
She is currently licensed as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. Dr. Justine believes in comprehensive ocular examinations and providing quality primary vision care. She also enjoys fitting a variety of single and multi-focal contact lenses and manages ocular diseases including dry eye, glaucoma, removing foreign bodies, and treating eye infections. Aside from her professional interests, and growing her practice, Dr. Justine enjoys spending quality time with her husband and baby girls.
Optometrist
Dr. Li-Fang Hung
Dr. Li-Fang Hung is a licensed therapeutic optometrist and optometric glaucoma specialist in Texas. Dr. Hung completed ophthalmology (BMed) training at Taoyuan Provincial Hospital in Taiwan and served as chief resident at the National Taiwan University hospital before completing his postdoctoral fellowship in infectious diseases at Stanford University. Dr. Hung continued his education in Texas and obtained his O.D., Ph.D. in physiological optics and vision science from the University of Houston College of Optometry and is a fellow of American Academy of Optometry.
Dr. Hung had a well accomplished thirty-five-year career in researching the treatment and development of refractive error with more than fifty paper publications in peer reviewed international journals. Currently retired from research, Dr. Hung enjoys playing ping pong, fishing, watching his grandchildren grow up, supporting the family legacy, and talking about all things related to eyes.
Optometrist
Dr. Shawn Matsumoto
Dr. Shawn Matsumoto is a licensed Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. He is a strong advocate for patient-centered care and takes pride in delivering thoughtful, comprehensive treatment. His clinical interests include the management of dry eye and ocular pain, pediatric eye care, soft and specialty contact lenses, and ocular diseases such as glaucoma and various retinopathies.
Dr. Shawn Matsumoto earned his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Texas at Austin. He went on to receive his Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry, graduating with distinction in both academic and clinical performance. During his time there, he was recognized with multiple awards for clinical excellence and leadership.
Outside the clinic, he enjoys connecting with people through travel, volunteering, and golf. His passion for building relationships is reflected not only in his personal life but in the care he provides to each of his patients.
Optometrist
Dr. Kelly Zhu
Dr. Kelly Zhu attended the University of Michigan where she received her B.S. in Neuroscience. She then moved to The Big Apple to attend the SUNY College of Optometry where she graduated with the Dr. Louis Hermann Memorial Award for Outstanding Compassion in Patient Care.
During her studies, she completed rotations at City Eye MD, Gouverneur Hospital, and New York University. She is experienced with primary care, dry eye management, soft and specialty contacts lenses, myopia management, as well as ocular diseases including glaucoma, retinopathy, cataracts, and macular degeneration.
Dr. Zhu is National Board-Certified Optometrist, and is licensed by the Texas Optometry Board as a Therapeutic Optometrist and Optometric Glaucoma Specialist. She moved to Austin to be with family, even though she misses the snow already. In her free time, Dr. Zhu enjoys painting, archery, and petting every dog she sees.
